Inspiring Olympics
My husband suggested that we study the Olympics and I am so glad! I found this great little site done by a fourth grade class. There is an overview in slide show form with illustrations by the children, a summary of each sport and all sorts of activities. Keep your atlas handy while you explore and discover things like where the first Winter Olympics was held. This page is a fun worksheet showing the symbolism of the Olympic logo. We have watched videos found all over the Internet on the different events my children are interested in. If you search "Olympics for kids" you will find great sites that have printables and ideas on how to teach it. So have fun this Winter Olympics! It only comes every four years : )
