I have previously mentioned I am MENTALLY ready for school to start but I'm not quite physically ready. So I thought I would make a shopping list with you and you can add your ideas. I have purchased my "curriculum" so-to-speak which I'd be happy to share and would love to find out what works for you as well. But first I would like to make a list of all the crafty supplies and activities I will need to keep little hands busy while I read them from classics that will help build their character! I already bought or have:
pencils
crayons
markers
colored pencils
glue
glue sticks
water colors
rulers
scissors
lined paper
blank paper
construction paper
I need to buy (or collect):
hat looms
(I have loads of yarn already)
Lincoln Logs
Legos
another set of Tinker Toys (more means less fighting ; )
feathers
buttons
ribbon
(add beans and pasta which I already have)
beads
string (for bead geckos)
What else do I need? Any ideas?
We love "field journals". Bound plain white paper from walmart (sketchbooks). They take them to the park and on vacations and draw what they see, or what we've done. Great for just going out in the yard too. (Lot's of colored pencils.)
ReplyDeleteAlso clear sheet protectors and dry erase markers. we cover the workbook pages with the sheet protectors and they write on them with dry erase markers. That way I can use the workbooks for more than one kid. (not good for handwriting though-in case they WANT to do handwriting ) Happy schooling!
Awesome! Thanks Kim.
ReplyDeleteDina you may have seen this little clip, but it is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt inspires my kids (and me) every time we watch it.
Enjoy!

Love the list Dina. Thanks for posting it. I just bought some Pick up Sticks and Jacks today. The kids love them! I also got some of those little puffy pom pom balls and googly eyes. I was also thinking I need to buy a bunch of fun pasta for craft projects.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tina! I'll add them to my list. Love the clip Ali. I hadn't seen it before. I'm going to show my children tomorrow!
